Size Matters!

Weight: Weight is determined by the heaviness of the particular item, and is measured with the use of a scale. Herbs and Spices are sold by weight so that you are getting the same amount every single time that you make a purchase.

Volume: Volume is the amount of space that an item you are measuring takes up. It’s a common measurement in food recipes where ratios are more important than precision. For example, a recipe typically asks for 1/4 cup (which is the same as 4 oz in volume)

When you’re looking for packaging, note that containers, jars, bottles, etc. are labeled by their volume measurements, or the amount of space that a product will take up within them. A 1/2 cup jar (which is a 4 oz jar by volume) will only hold .6 oz (by weight) of Pasta Sprinkle.
